Key West is an island city 4 miles long by 2 miles wide, located at the end of U.S. Highway 1, approximately 160 miles south west of Miami, Florida. The city is the county seat of Monroe County. The principal industry is tourism. A survey performed in 1996 estimated that 1.5 million people visited Key West and 2.5 million visited at least some part of the Florida Keys. Estimates show 2003 visitor counts increased to 2.3 million visiting Key West and 3.4 million visiting at least some part of the Florida Keys.

There's always plenty to do in the fabulous Florida Keys! Not only do visitors enjoy daily adventures scuba diving, snorkeling, sightseeing, and fishing, but also they can take part in the numerous special events sponsored by local as well as national organizations and advertisers.

We bring you the ever-popular classic rhythms from the biggest island in the Caribbean. Here you will listen to MAMBO, BOLEROS, DANZON, CHA CHA CHA, SALSA, MERENGUE and SON. We feature old Latin favorites as well as new talent.

There are three general markets, Anglo Americans who speak only English, immigrants who speak only Spanish, and the third, who have largely been ignored in the Florida Keys. These are people who have a Hispanic background, speak both Spanish and English fluently and consider themselves Americans. As this third group grows, so do the marketing opportunities. U.S. Hispanics are carving their own niche with a fusion of different styles. Its called being bilingual.

According to experts, Spanish and non-Spanish speakers now consider the sultry sounds of Radio Ritmo music to their ears…
