Baby Shower Party Theme - Lady and the Tramp
My best friend Amy's baby shower was so cute I'll remember it forever.
The picture on the invitation's was a still from the "Lady and the Tramp" movie. Inside were the important details like location, date and time of the shower as well as bringing something for the baby having to do with the "Lady and the Tramp".
There were lots of things I could have bought for the baby like stuffed animals, diapers, crib sheets, infant clothes, et cetera, but I wanted to get something that maybe the other women wouldn't think of. I wanted a Lady and the Tramp baby album so Amy could keep a record of the baby's growth and development during its first years of life. I bought Lady and the Tramp stickers, post card movie stills. I cut out the pictures decorating the cover and put stickers every few pages. I liked how it came out; it was very creative.
There were five of us at the party. The furniture had been cleared out of the living room except for a table with a red and white checkered tablecloth and chairs. Of course, we had spaghetti with meatballs for lunch. There were jugs of table wine for the guests. The soundtrack of the movie played while we ate. When "He's a Tramp" came on Amy said the baby started kicking. Could that mean the baby was a girl? I jokingly suggested she name the baby, "Lady". Everyone moaned and rolled their eyes. Amy opened her gifts while we sipped cappuccino Amy loved the baby album especially when I told her I had decorated it myself.
We chatted after the gifts had been opened. Some of us had a lot of catching up to do as we had not seen each other for a while. Clarisse gave Amy some advice about babies as she is the only one of us who has a child. As usual, we talked about our love lives and how far or how close we were to having our own kids. Terry, Clarisse's sister made a game of seeing how many other movies we could name, besides "Lady and the Tramp", set in New York City.
After that Clarisse brought out a "Lady and the Tramp" baby shower cake. We took our pieces of cake into the den to watch the movie. I really love that movie! I know a lot of it by heart.
After the movie Amy gave each of us little bags with little wind up toys, key chains of Lady and Tramp. Everyone also received a Disney store gift certificates.
Clarisse took lots of pictures during the shower. She sent copies of the best ones to all the guests. Amy put a few in the front of the baby album for her child to see. I'm so proud!
