KENTWOOD , Louisiana, Nov. 10 (UPI) -- The Two-year-old son of pop star Britney Spears has been hospitalized after getting sick during a trip to Louisiana, a source told Entertainment Tonight. Jayden James was taken to the emergency room Sunday after he fell ill during a visit to his mother's family home in Kentwood. ET didn't offer details about the nature of the child's illness or his condition, however, a source told People magazine that the two-year-old was taken to the hospital after "a terrible allergic reaction. He had hives, was itchy and irritable." The source also told the magazine that Britney Spears and her mother stayed at the hospital overnight with Jayden. Britain's Daily Mail said doctors were not immediately able to determine the problem and kept Jayden overnight for observation. A statement on her Web site issued Monday reads: "Jayden James Federline was admitted to the Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center on Sunday, November 9th. Doctors concluded he had a reaction to something he ingested. He is expected to be discharged tomorrow." Spears has two children -- Jayden and Sean Preston, 3 -- with her ex-husband Kevin Federline. Federline has legal and physical custody of the toddlers and Spears has visitation rights with the boys. This marks the first time Spears has been permitted to take her children out of their home state of California since Federline was granted full custody of them in July, the Mail noted. The pop singer's father Jamie and attorney Andrew Wallet were granted conservatorship over her affairs after she was hospitalized for psychiatric treatment early this year. The newspaper said Jamie Spears accompanied his daughter and the boys on their trip to Louisiana. |
