Kanye West makes fan's birthday dream come true

Kanye West makes fan's birthday dream come true

(Yahoo!) - Kanye West may have stolen the microphone from Taylor Swift during her 2009 MTV Video Music Awards speech, but nowadays he's handing the mic off to his fans. During a recent concert in Uncasville, Connecticut, the 36-year-old rapper made one lucky fan's dream come true when he told a security guard to hand the mic to the fan so he could sing the final verse of "Bound 2" — and he even gave him a parting gift when he was finished.

The lucky concertgoer named Mike Ahern told Too Fab that he was celebrating his 18th birthday and that singing with Kanye was "nerve-racking" but he managed to remember all the words.

"I got to sing the end of the song, which was really cool," he told the site. "You get lost in the moment, but you know all the words."

And when Ahern tried to return the mic, Kanye — who was apparently in a generous mood that night — told him to keep it. So Ahern walked out of the concert with Kanye's mic in hand. And don’t expect him to be selling the souvenir anytime soon.

"Maybe [I'd sell] if someone said, 'I'll give you $100 million' … but realistically, I'm not interested in selling it," he said.

The fan posted a pic to Instagram of him posing with the memento alongside the caption, ”Kanye West gave me his microphone as a birthday gift and asked me to sing the end of Bound 2 to close out the concert. Unforgettable night!"

And now Ahern is dreaming even bigger. "If I could work for Kanye in any business or field, that would be incredible," he told Too Fab.
