Katy Perry was one of the many artists to help pay tribute to the Beatles on Sunday night's CBS special commemorating the 50th anniversary of the group's appearance on "The Ed Sullivan Show." The pop star took on the classic "Yesterday."

Katy let her voice shine, singing in front of a colorful stage with Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr watching on from the front row.

The special was taped the day after the Grammy awards last month. Katy's boyfriend John Mayer also was a part of the show, performing "Don't Let Me Down" with country star Keith Urban. Ed Sheeran was also on hand, representing a new generation of British singer-songwriters making a splash in the U.S. He took the stage with nothing but an acoustic guitar, singing a stripped-down version of "In My Life."
