The Carriage Arrived To Pick Up Cinderella

As a Horse and Carriage business we have really witnessed some strange weddings. The most memorable one that I recall happened this past April. We were on the way home from working a morning wedding and as often happens when someone sees our beautiful carriage pass by, the phone rings with questions. This one followed the familiar course of how much, what is included, and so forth. The next question the young man asked was "how much notice do you need before the wedding" I answered his question with "Well when is your wedding" His answer was "In about 45 minutes now" He explained that he and his best man stepped outside the church to take a deep breath of fresh air and saw us pass by. I turned to my sister and asked her if she thought we could get the horses harnessed and the carriage ready in that much time. WEll we made a quick U turn and did some Olympic harness and decorating of the carriage. We were sitting in front of the church when the young man and his new bride stepped out in front of their guests. You could have heard a pin drop it was so quiet and then the bride, with tears streaming down her face, turned to her new husband and told him that she was so thrilled that he had provided her with this wonderful surprise. She said "How did you know? My mom called me Cinderella all my life, and now I am truly going to get to take a Cinderella ride to remember my wedding. " There were very few dry eyes in that crowd, including ours at such joy and surprise in her face.
